Biography

I tend to describe myself as a 'sensitive' or 'empath' - like a 6th sense, often picking up 'feelings' from the universe when no-one else does.
From June 2010 through to March 2026 , was when I was completely aware of my senses. This period of life has become akin to a spiritual awakening (#4).

What I had long thought were merely dreams, my imagination (or even to go to the extreme as to call it an unhealthy obsession, as I was always drawn to a particular person but at the time I never could fully understand why) ... turned into reality. Suddenly, all the pieces started to fit. Reflecting on my life from 2004 onwards ... it all made sense.

During this period of awakening, I've been able to 'feel others vibrations', including times when I've felt a spirit/soul/entity communicating with me at a spiritual level. While communication from souls that have passed on (after death) is well documented throughout history - my story is different - as I've been able to sense communication with that of souls belonging to people that are well and truly physically alive (these are people who have a strong meaning in my life - eg. souls that my own soul would discern).
How is this possible? Well firstly, I certainly suggest you read the article Astral Sense which can be found on the Astral Plane page. Also I have long considered myself to be a sensitive/empath, on top of that I believe I have been granted a gift of sorts ... until I am with "the one that I love so dearly".
This is also partly why the book 'we don't die' has such meaning to me.

Will this happen in future years or simply a passing 'gift'? ...
Only time will tell.

Similar to others that have 'gifts' (eg. the medium George Anderson in 'we don't die') ... I am of the opinion that it is a gift bestowed upon myself by the spiritual realm, rather than due to a rewiring of the brain.

During my teenage years I have had many OBE's - but my first OBE that also included the 'tunnel experience' didn't happen until 2002.
I can distinctly remember saying to my friend at the time, how over a weekend, "I went on a journey. I was met by god. He had long hair, white robe and sandles. He sat next to me on a park bench and I had a conversation with god" ... of course, my friend thought I was crazy, and I ended up simply thinking it was a very vivid hallucination. It wasn't until many years later that I realised I really did have a conversation with god (or an entity similar?).
It's generally said that, regarding the 'tunnel experience' - the spiritual realm appears as constructs that each individual soul can cope with, and put the soul at ease (hence why during NDE's a christian will see a christian form of 'heaven', buddhists see budda, etc).

Since 2002, I've had many OBE's that also include the 'tunnel experience'. Interestingly, over the years as my religious views changed from being a christian to a more generalised spiritual view - this entity 'god' changed in a similar fashion. It was only that first OBE where the spiritual realm was similar to a 'hollywood movie style christian heaven/god' and (I believe) that with each progressive OBE the spiritual realm was showing me more of it's actual truths.
While there are many other people that have had NDE's and hence the 'tunnel experience' ... I am among a rare few that has experienced it several times. Also, majority of mine were voluntary/intentionally induced, something which is strictly forbidden by christianity (and if we were to believe what the bible says, then I will be going to hell for having such astral experiences) ... yet it appears from my experiences that the spiritual realm is far less concerned about this - the experience is roughly the same no matter the method of creating it : NDE, meditation, shamanism, etc.

Something else that makes my OBE's 'tunnel experience' unique ... on several of my experiences, after going out through a tunnel and being at that entity/place where "the centre through which all emanates from, and all of life is connected to - god, etc" ... I have then experienced travelling out through another tunnel and reaching another soul (of an actual living person) and even communicating with that spirit/soul. My most recent OBE which also included the 'tunnel experience' happened in October 2011, and is mentioned in the blog post 'The Astral : going back to the centre of all'. For many it may be hard to understand, as christianity is of the belief that the soul is contained within the body and also the notion of 'soulmates' has no grounding in christian scripture ... but then, there is soo much to my story that can't be described using current ideas and theology, except for when we turn to new-age/spiritual and esoteric ideas.

Perhaps humanity is collectively and globally awakening, and is truly on the verge of a new world-view?

The image on the left is the closest resemblance that I could find as to what it was like when I had the 'tunnel experience'.

The connection/tunnel that I travelled through (back to god, the centre of all) was of bright colours ... similar to the 'bright neon sign' colours that I had when I fell 'in love' with my 2nd love. You can also understand why it can easily be mistaken for being a hallucination (even when no drugs are involved), as similar to that of 1960's psychedelic culture.
Perhaps some of those 'free spirited people' truly experienced the spiritual/divine realm?

Especially since some drugs by their very nature, are classed as dissociatives.
Allowing a person to 'disconnect their consciousness from their body' and travel elsewhere.

I digress, but will let you ponder those thoughts.

Again, I would like to highlight acouple of my own Astral experiences ...

This is only my subjective experience, and clearly other NDE'ers have experienced differently (eg. floating above their body ... I have also experienced similar in earlier years - although undocumented). It's not to say that they are wrong, but maybe there are different 'types' of OBE's as well as tunnel experience.

All experiences do confirm that the consciousness/spirit travels through a tunnel/tube - and being able to carry that consciousness and remember the journey is certainly a remarkable feat (as many people have trouble even remembering their dreams).

Background

I come from a science background - I was always science focused in school, my sister being a school science teacher, and my brother completing degrees in science - going on to work in the field.

Yet I have also delt with the religious aspects in my life too - my sister teaches at a private anglican school (and a catholic school in years prior), my mother is christian and used to be involved with a christian women's association. A close aunt has always been into alternative/new-age, even at one point joining the Rajneesh movement (orange people). To this day, she prefers to go by an Indian name (instead of her christian given name). While I've had a mostly christian upbringing (Anglican/CoE + some church + sunday school when really young), during my mid 20's I seriously looked into joining the Freemasons.

Christianity never felt quite right for me (although, others may well find comfort by turning to Christianity, don't get me wrong).
There was always a nagging thought in my mind, that there is so much more to the spiritual realm ... beyond what is taught by Christianity. Due to this, I have also explored other cultural ideologies. And hence, forging my own path.

In the process, I discovered that spirituality isn't necessarily bound to religion ... they are 2 distinctly separate constructs, that (can and do) over-lap.
There are many others that have views similar to myself ... It is perfectly fine to be a spiritual person (and believe in a spiritual realm) - yet not be religious!

I have on occasion, experienced an OBE (#1,#2). As well as that, I have experienced something similar to "the tunnel experience" (#3) which all too often is described during NDE's. I believe I have travelled the astral plane, and as such ... travelling to "the centre through which all emanates from, and all of life is connected to" (ie. god, the source, universal centre, zero point field, etc).
The times of experiencing the astral plane have been to re-align myself with my true spiritual path (actually, the term that I used to use was "reset"). At this current point in time (March 2026 ) I have divine guidance while "in body" through the use of astrology, as well as being more aware of my signposts and flags (synchronicities).

Adolescence

Around the age of 5, I electrocuted myself - by sticking a knife in a powerpoint (with no RCD protection) while trying to unplug christmas tree lights. The shock physically blew me several metres to the other side of the room and the zap was heard from a couple of houses away.
Is this the cause of strange happenings? I don't know.

In my early teenage years, I can remember experimenting with brainwave stimulators - laying down, putting on a set of headphones, playing music that had been encoded with alpha/theta/delta in a certain pattern ... and simply letting my mind take me places.
Synaesthesia - being able to 'taste' colours that I saw. It would've happened 30-40 times randomly over a period of 6 years (although not later on in life).
Free-association writing : simply writing words/sentences - whatever came into my head, without trying to control where my thoughts were going.

Recent years

fMRI/EEG scans (November 2011) showed no signs of mental illness.
I feel that those techniques may be only give a slight insight into what is happening in the brain ... perhaps maybe highlighting the effects - yet not the actual cause, or the true nature of what is going on.
